The Arguin Bank is much more fragile, as it is often exposed to storms and tides. It marks the entrance to the Arcachon Basin, but it may one day disappear. Its erosion has accelerated considerably in recent years. It has grown from 7 km long to only 3 km in the space of four years. It is a radical change. Yet it is an essential element in the balance of local wildlife. This would have a major impact on biodiversity. (Environment).
