How Bain Capital Ventures Plans to Deploy Its Fresh $1.6B Fund
The new fund extends BCV’s early-stage strategy, with more than 82% of Fund X dollars going to pre-seed through Series B rounds.
Bain Capital Ventures raised a $1.6 billion fund, its 11th, to back AI-native founders building category-defining companies across infrastructure, healthcare, and security sectors.
This 11th Fund represents a 14% increase from the $1.4 billion fund Bain Capital announced three years ago, reflecting the firm's expanded early-stage investment strategy in AI.
From the new fund, BCV intends to invest in 30 to 40 companies at Seed through Series B stages, targeting AI-powered infrastructure like Crusoe, valued at $30 billion.
Partner Kevin Zhang said BCV differentiates itself by supporting founders with equity capital, debt facilities, and real-economy relationships, leveraging its affiliation with Bain Capital.
BCV aims to fund compute infrastructure until intelligence becomes "too cheap to meter," positioning the firm to support startups navigating what it calls the "post-AGI era.
