Bacardi acquires Irish whiskey maker
Jack and Stephen Teeling will remain strategic advisers as the brand expands to more than 80 markets, Bacardi said.
- Bermudian-Based Bacardi has finalized a deal to become the sole owner of the Teeling Whiskey Company, completing a multi-year acquisition that began with a minority stake in 2017.
- Since Bacardi first established its relationship with the Teeling Whiskey Company, the Teeling brand has more than doubled in size and is now exported to more than 80 markets worldwide.
- The Teeling Whiskey Distillery, which opened in 2015 as Dublin's first new distillery in over 125 years, has welcomed over one million visitors and won over 650 international awards.
- Bacardi chief executive officer Mahesh Madhavan said "TEELING is the perfect fit for Bacardi," while Founders Jack and Stephen Teeling will remain as strategic advisers driving long-term growth.
