'Baby Shark' producer Pinkfong shares soar in South Korea after IPO

Pinkfong raised 76 billion won in its IPO to expand beyond early-childhood content with new characters and AI tools, backed by Baby Shark's 16.4 billion YouTube views.

  • On Nov 18, 2025, The Pinkfong Company debuted on Seoul's Kosdaq, with shares surging as much as 60% intraday to a 61,500 won high, over 60% above the IPO price of 38,000 won.
  • The Pinkfong Company priced its IPO at the top of its range, raising 76 billion won from 2 million shares at 38,000 won, fueled by Baby Shark, YouTube's most-watched video with over 16 billion views.
  • Last year and early 2025 financial reports show Pinkfong Company posted 97.4 billion won revenue last year, with H1 2025 revenue down 2.4% to 45.2 billion won and net profit falling 67% to 3.8 billion won.
  • Following other Kosdaq successes this year, market appetite lifted the listing as analysts said the sharp first-day move was normal and Choi Jong-kyung said, `In theory, newly listed stocks are supposed to rise by around 30 to 40 per cent on their first day of trading.`
  • Pinkfong Company aims to expand into family entertainment and older kids' content, planning to acquire a 3D children content studio and grow IP beyond shark and fox characters.
