- Amazon Web Services and Saudi Arabia-backed HUMAIN announced a strategic partnership on Tuesday in Riyadh to invest over $5 billion in an AI Zone.
- This partnership follows Saudi Arabia's 2024 pledge to build an AI-powered economy under Vision 2030 and coincides with AWS's plan to open a cloud region in 2026.
- The AI Zone will feature dedicated AWS infrastructure, AI services, and training programs aimed at fostering innovation and developing 100,000 Saudi citizens in cloud and generative AI skills.
- AWS CEO Matt Garman highlighted that the AI Zone will drive innovation across various sectors, while HUMAIN CEO Tareq Amin described the collaboration as a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia’s efforts to establish itself as a leading force in the field of artificial intelligence.
