The Polish Foreign Ministry has advised people to avoid traveling to the Czech Republic due to the high number of cases of hepatitis A. Polish media note in this regard that since the beginning of the year, at least 29 victims and at least 2,597 cases of infection have been recorded in the Czech Republic, which is four times more than in the whole of last year.
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised Polish citizens to avoid traveling to the Czech Republic for now. The warning was issued due to the high number of cases of hepatitis A in the Czech Republic. The PAP agency reported that if Poles still decide to travel to the Czech Republic, they should take increased hygiene measures, avoid drinking tap water and eating food of unverified origin.
Since the beginning of the year, nearly 2,600 cases of hepatitis A have been recorded in the Czech Republic, according to the Czech National Institute of Public Health (SZU). This is four times more than during all of last year. The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against travel to the Czech Republic.
This year's hepatitis A epidemic in the Czech Republic will be the largest in the last 46 years. By Wednesday, 2,640 people had fallen ill and 29 had died of liver failure. The Polish Foreign Ministry has recommended that its citizens avoid traveling to the Czech Republic due to the threat of infection.
