Average annual earnings rise over 52,000 euros gross

Last year, the average annual wage for full-time employees in Germany was around 52,000 euros gross. The upper one percent earned fourfold. Influenced by these very high incomes, the arithmetic average is about 62,000 euros.

Full-time employees in Germany earn an average of 52 159 euros gross per year. Income rose by 5.3 percent compared to the previous year.

Earnings of full-time employees increased noticeably last year – partly even the inflation of previous years could be compensated. However, the money is very unevenly distributed.

The average German annual salary before deduction of taxes and social security contributions increased by five percent in 2024. However, this does not ensure a noticeable gain in prosperity – for several reasons.

In Germany, the average gross annual earnings in the past year were 52.159 euros.
