Savoie: Two Dead Including a High Mountain Guide in Avalanches This Friday in La Plagne and Valloire
Four skiers were taken midday in an off-piste area of La Plagne and four more around 4 p.m. at the Black Needle Combe in the Valloire area.
A man died after being caught in an avalanche around noon, in an off-track area of the resort of La Plagne, at 2,600 meters above sea level. Another avalanche occurred at about 4 pm in the area of the commune of Valloire, at the level of the Black needle comb, at 2,300 meters above sea level.
Four people were taken into an avalanche this Friday, 26 December, in the ski area of La Plagne, Savoie. One of them, a ski instructor, did not survive despite the intervention of the rescue.
A guide was taken in an avalanche in La Plagne while a 59-year-old skier was taken in an avalanche in Valloire on Friday.
