The European Battery Regulation has now been applicable to the entire industrial sector since Monday 18 August, particularly for the automotive sector, measures which the EU has been considering since 2006 and whose objectives are sometimes considered too ambitious.
As of August 18, as France Info and Actu Environnement point out, the European regulation on extended producer responsibility (EPR) for batteries comes into force, requiring manufacturers to finance the recycling of their products.
