- The discovery follows last week's extradition of 26 senior cartel figures to the United States, amid Mexico's 480,000 drug-related deaths and 130,000 missing persons toll.
- The incident resembles earlier violence in Guanajuato, where prosecutors investigate the motive behind 12 tortured bodies found across five Salamanca locations in October 2024.
