CATSKILL, N.Y. — An Athens town bookkeeper has been charged with altering municipal payroll records “in an effort to benefit himself,” the Greene County Sheriff’s Office said Friday. Donald A. Pierro, 70, of Hillsdale, was arrested by sheriff’s deputies on Friday, March 22, and charged with the felonies of attempted grand larceny and falsifying business records, and with one misdemeanor count of official misconduct, according to a press release.…
