With 83 votes in favour of Assembly members of the National Democratic Action (ADN) government bench and allies, the plenary of the National Assembly approved the monitoring report on the procurement processes of the Municipality of Quito, through an agreement signed with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), for the acquisition of 60 electric trolleybuses for the city.
The 60 trolleybuses acquired by the Municipality of Quito are in the focus of the National Assembly. Irregularities warn an additional damage to that found by the Comptroller.
With 83 votes in favour, out of 141 legislators present, the plenary of the National Assembly approved on June 23, 2026 the report of control on the contested process used by the Municipality of Quito for the purchase of 60 trolleybuses.
