- Security officials said protesters burst gas cylinders and attacked with arrows and stones while Assam Police used tear gas, rubber bullets, and blank shots; at least 58 police personnel were injured.
- Authorities imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of Bhartiya Nyay Suraksha Sanhita and a night curfew from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. in Karbi Anglong, while Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will chair talks on December 26.
- Cabinet Minister Ranoj Pegu visited Kheroni, persuading protesters to call off the hunger strike and agree to tripartite talks, but violence resumed soon after and additional security forces were deployed.
