According to calculations made by the Creditreform office on Thursday, 11.900 companies will have filed for insolvency at the end of June – 9.4 percent more than in the same period in 2024.
11,900 companies had to file for insolvency in the first half of the year, shows a current analysis of the credit reform agency. The development in the medium-sized sector is particularly dynamic.
In Germany, almost 12,000 companies report insolvency in the first half of the year - as many as they haven't for ten years. Private individuals also have more bankruptcies. Creditreform sees a "deep economic crisis" as a reason.
According to forecasts, the number of companies that have to file for insolvency is rising to the highest level since 2015. Service companies in particular are going bankrupt.
Expensive energy, restrained consumers, bureaucratic burdens: more and more companies are giving up. After all, the latest official insolvency figures make some hope.
As many companies as in 10 years no longer had to file for insolvency in the first half of the year, and it doesn't get any better.
