Arval, BNP Parisbas' subsidiary leasing company, entered into exclusive negotiations with Mercedes-Benz for the acquisition of Athlon. A new concentration on the LLD sector would allow the creation of a new European giant in the sector.
Consensus of the Norbolsa Market BNP Paribas is in talks to acquire Athlon, the leasing subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz, for about 1 billion euros, strengthening its business of renting vehicles, adding 400,000 vehicles and placing the group close to 2.3 million in full service leasing. This agreement would have limited impact on the capital (-13pbs) and would bring a ROIC of 18%, raising the profit by 200 million euros previewed for 3Q26.
French bank BNP Paribas has confirmed it is in exclusive talks to acquire car leasing company Athlon. Originally a Dutch company, it is now owned by Mercedes-Benz.
