Already 13 of the 16 candidates in the Portuguese preliminaries have made it clear that they will not participate in Eurovision in protest of Israel's participation. Employees of the Italian broadcasting corporation RAI are initiating a petition calling on the body to withdraw from the competition
Over half of Norwegians want Norway to withdraw from the Eurovision Song Contest if Israel participates, according to a new survey from Norway's largest trade union federation, Fagforbundet.
Spain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Iceland have already announced their voices in the contest against Israel's participation, due to military attacks on the Gaza Strip. Portugal participates through the Song Festival, but most of the selected artists refused to represent the country in case of victory.
