Arrests in connection to child abuse reports during Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness month

In April, the Mount Pleasant Police Department took five reports of Sexual Assault of a Child, Indecency with a Child, and Child Grooming; and they made three arrests in connection to these reports. On April 8, 45-year-old Martin Urista was arrested and charged with Indecency of a Child, Child Grooming, and Delivery of Marijuana to a Minor.

In a coordinated action between the Attorney General's Office of the Nation and the Sijin of the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá, a man was captured who was allegedly linked to cases of sexual abuse of minors in a children's home located in the town of San Cristóbal, south of the city.
