- On Monday at the High Court in Edinburgh, Lady Ross sentenced Patrick Nolan, 39, to six years and six months, including a custodial period of four years and six months.
- A G4S field monitoring officer went to Nolan's Western Isles home this year to fit a replacement electronic monitoring tag after his malfunctioned.
- During the visit, Nolan, who had been drinking, retrieved a knife and grabbed at the officer's clothing during a struggle that left her with a minor laceration, Lady Ross said.
