Arlette Laan will soon be the first female hiker to complete all 11 national scenic trails

In about a week, a Massachusetts woman will be the first female hiker to finish all 11 national scenic trails in the United States. Arlette Laan has about 200 miles left of Wisconsin’s 1,000-mile-long Ice Age Trail. Once she reaches the trail’s eastern terminus in Sturgeon Bay, she’ll make history.
