Arkansas State Police, ICE sign agreement to expand troopers' immigration authority
Arkansas State Police troopers will be able to perform certain immigration officer duties under a new agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. State Police Director Col. Tom Hagar and ICE Deputy Director Madison Shenhan signed a memorandum of agreement authorizing the changes, which require troopers to be trained and approved before acting under what is called a Task Force Model.
