Arkansas Republican Party Calls for Primary Election to Fill House District 70 Seat | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

Both parties opted for primaries to select nominees in a closely contested district where the last election was decided by 286 votes, officials said.

The Republican Party of Arkansas wants a primary election -- not a convention of the delegates -- to select its nominee in the special election for the House District 70 seat formerly held by Carlton Wing, R-North Little Rock, party Chairman Joseph Wood said Thursday.
