Haywood Co. man scores $200K after buying scratch-off
HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) -- One western North Carolina man's decision to buy a $5 scratch-off ticket got him $200,000. State education lottery leaders said Robert Patten bought his lucky Prize Link Multiplier ticket from a gas station on Russ Avenue in Waynesville. After stopping by the state lottery headquarters on Monday, Patten took home $143,501 after state and federal tax withholdings.
