Fearless India Stuns Korea Again, Dhiraj-Kumkum Win Mixed Team Gold
Dhiraj Bommadevara added a second gold after edging Lee Woo Seok 7-3 and teaming with Kumkum Mohod to beat Korea 5-1.
On Sunday, Asian champion Dhiraj Bommadevara and 17-year-old rookie Kumkum Mohod secured two recurve gold medals at the Archery World Cup Stage-3 in Antalya, defeating top-seeded South Korean teams.
Dhiraj's mother, Revathi, sold her jewelry ten years ago to purchase his first bow, a sacrifice the athlete emotionally recalled after his victory alongside Mohod.
The pair stunned top-seeded Kim Je-deok and Oh Yejin 5-1 in the mixed team final, while Dhiraj defeated Lee Woo Seok 7-3 to claim the men's individual title.
National coach Sonam Bhutia praised the performance as a morale-booster ahead of the Asian Games, noting the victory validates the team's commitment to consistency.
These victories mark India's second win over South Korea in two months, reflecting growing confidence within the recurve camp as athletes prepare for the Asian Games later this year.
