Archer Unveils Texas Air Taxi Networks Across Houston, Dallas, and Austin
The networks would link major airports and business hubs with all-electric flights that cut 60 to 90 minute drives to 10 to 20 minutes, Archer said.
On Friday, Archer Aviation announced plans for three air taxi networks serving Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Houston to increase connectivity across the Texas Triangle.
The Texas Triangle is home to 20 million people facing significant traffic congestion; Archer aims to turn 60-90 minute drives into 10-20 minute flights using its all-electric Midnight aircraft.
Collaborating with the Texas Department of Transportation, Archer is developing charging infrastructure supported by $477,500 in funds from the Regional Transportation Council.
At the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix from Oct. 22-25, Archer will display its Midnight aircraft to showcase the technology to the public in Austin.
"Texas is setting the bar for America's leadership," said Founder and CEO Adam Goldstein, while Senator Ted Cruz called Archer a "prime example of American innovation.
