At its meeting today, Wednesday, 14 January 2026, the Council of Ministers took special action, including the appointment of Secretaries-General for Ministerial Sectors and an exchange of others, as well as the appointment of Benahi as Director-General of the Independent Mina Nouakchott, Fatima Michel as Assistant Director-General of the Water Company and Ahmed Ramdhan Sylla as Assistant Director-General of your Somalia.
During its meeting today, the Council of Ministers approved the appointment of Marat Ould Benahi as Director-General of the Port of Friendship to succeed the former Director-General, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Maham, who took advantage of his right to retirement. The appointment of a son of Benahi is among a number of appointments approved by the Council during its meeting today at the Presidential Palace.
