Anti-Trump demonstrators rally cities across Quebec for women’s rights

Protesters gathered in front of the United States Consulate in Montreal today to mark International Women’s Day and demonstrate against what they called the American government’s attacks on women’s rights and Canada’s sovereignty. It was one of a dozen demonstrations planned across Quebec today, with protesters also set to demonstrate in front the of U.S. consulates in Quebec City as well as the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa. Organizer Laure Waridel denounced what she called the U.S. President Donald Trump administration’s rolling back of reproductive rights and it turning its back on its allies across the globe.
