Tahsin Epli, a CHP member of the Üsküdar Municipal Council, has switched to the AKP. Prior to the mayoral election, which was won by the AKP candidate, municipal council members Ahmet Başbaydar, Ayhan Aydın, Hüseyin Kazan, and Tahsin Usta, who had resigned from the CHP, also joined the AKP.
Tensions arose at the Afyonkarahisar Municipal Council meeting during a discussion on the roles of council members who switched parties within the specialized committees.
