Freddie Flintoff Admits He 'Wouldn't Leave His House' as He Lands New ITV Series
The two-part series will follow Flintoff as he meets young people and families affected by Tourette's and seeks to reduce stigma.
Broadcaster Freddie Flintoff will front a new two-part ITV series titled 'Freddie Flintoff: Understanding Tourette's,' exploring the daily realities of young people living with the condition.
Inspired by John Davidson's BAFTA-winning film 'I Swear,' the documentary draws on his life with Tourette syndrome, a condition causing involuntary sounds or movements known as tics.
Flintoff, 48, relates to the isolation associated with the condition after his 2022 accident while filming 'Top Gear' left him with severe injuries requiring reconstructive surgery.
Flintoff aims to 'spread awareness' and 'push for change,' arguing that the backlash surrounding Davidson at the BAFTA Film Awards proves 'stigma is still out there.'
Produced by 72 Films in collaboration with Tourette's Action, the series ensures the community's voices are heard authentically, according to CEO Emma McNally.
