World’s Largest Cruise Ship to Sail From Galveston Starting in 2027

On Nov. 13, 2025, Royal Caribbean announced its 2027–28 season, opening bookings early for Crown & Anchor Society members and debuting Icon of the Seas in Galveston in August 2027.
Symphony of the Seas will homeport in Texas starting April 2027, while Liberty of the Seas returns to Galveston after a 2026 amplification adding pooldeck features and new casitas.
Onboard, Icon packs record‑breaking attractions including six waterslides, the first neighborhood for young families, The Ultimate Abyss 10‑story dry slide, Category 6 waterpark, seven pools, and over 40 dining venues.
Icon's Galveston itineraries will call on Caribbean beach destinations including Perfect Day at CocoCay, Roatan, Honduras, Cozumel, Mexico, and other Caribbean and Mexican ports like Oranjestad, Aruba and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
