Amnesty International denounces mass homicides and racism in Brazil

Amnesty International reports that 99% of the victims of homicides committed by police forces were male and 84% were black, of indigenous origin, or people of African descent in favelas.

“Racism, violence, and impunity on the part of the security forces continued to encourage state violence. Mass killings by security forces were frequent and disproportionately affected black people in slums,” says the human rights organization.
