Canada's David Morrison Meets with India's National Security Adviser
The two sides reviewed progress on a shared security work plan and agreed to expand cooperation on crime, terrorism and cyber threats.
- On October 5–7, David Morrison, Senior Diplomatic and International Affairs Advisor to Prime Minister Mark Carney, visited New Delhi to meet National Security Adviser Ajit Doval for ongoing bilateral security dialogue.
- This meeting follows previous dialogues in New Delhi and Ottawa, reflecting guidance provided by their respective Prime Ministers during meetings in 2026 and at the Summit.
- They reviewed the Security Work Plan, agreeing to deepen cooperation against transnational organized crime, terrorism, trafficking, and cybercrime while streamlining extradition of criminal offenders.
- Both sides agreed to strengthen institutional mechanisms and establish new channels to facilitate streamlined communication and timely information-sharing on matters of mutual concern.
- They also explored advancing a substantive bilateral defence relationship and welcomed efforts to progress negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement , exchanging views on regional and global developments.
