Last December, when the Seimas was considering amendments to the Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) Law, after MP Agnė Širinskienė's cat Nuodėgulis became famous, an initiative was launched in the parliament aimed at prohibiting politicians from abusing the right of legislative initiative.

The amendments to the Seimas Statute that provide for this were registered by MP Rimas Jonas Jankūnas together with his colleagues.
