- Domestic giants Blinkit, Swiggy, and IPO-bound Zepto control 77% of the market, while Amazon holds only a 6.2% share, according to Datum Intelligence data.
- The retailer will add small neighbourhood warehouses to its Amazon Now network and deploy AI tools for demand prediction, targeting around 1,300 stores by April next year from around 750 now.
- Amazon India's quick commerce business crossed $1 billion in annualised gross sales over the past three months, "making it the fastest-growing e-commerce business in Amazon India's history," the company said.
- Satish Meena, founder of Datum, noted catching up with rivals will not be easy, while the firm faces tight regulations and a pending antitrust case, which it denies.
