In Saint-Yan, the incumbent pharmacist Jérôme Rouyer refuses to insure the night guards. Like 67% of the officiaries in the region, he protested against a measure that reduced discounts on generics. In response to the strike, the regional health agencies announced requisitions that forced pharmacies to insure the guards.


Striked with e-prescriptions, colorectal cancer screening or a third-party fee, the pharmacists' unions called for a tougher movement. They protested since 1 July against the government's announced drop in generic discounts.
Since July 1st, 65% of pharmacies in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté have been on strike. In Côte-d'Or, many of them are not mincing their words in the face of a "catastrophic" government plan that aims to reduce discounts from laboratories to pharmacies on generic drugs. These discounts are a major contributor to the sometimes fragile economic models of some pharmacies.
