In response to the strike, the regional health agencies announced requisitions that forced pharmacies to insure the guards.

Since July 1st, 65% of pharmacies in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté have been on strike. In Côte-d'Or, many of them are not mincing their words in the face of a "catastrophic" government plan that aims to reduce discounts from laboratories to pharmacies on generic drugs. These discounts are a major contributor to the sometimes fragile economic models of some pharmacies.
