Chomps meat sticks recalled after pieces of metal found inside, USDA says
- On March 20, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, along with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service , announced a recall of approximately 29,541 pounds of ready-to-eat beef stick products made by Idaho Smokehouse Partners, LLC, based in Shelley, Idaho.
- The recall was initiated after two customers reported finding pieces of metal in the Chomps meat stick products.
- The recalled Chomps Original Beef Stick Mild and Original Turkey Sticks were produced between January 13 and January 15, 2025, bear the lot code 25016, establishment number V2059, and have an expiration date of 02-10-2026.
- Idaho Smokehouse Partners stated they worked with regulatory authorities to protect consumers and are committed to the highest food safety standards, advising consumers to throw away or return the recalled products.
- The recalled products were shipped to distribution centers in California, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington for further distribution nationwide, and while there have been no confirmed reports of injuries, consumers are urged to dispose of or return the affected products and can visit www.chomps.com/recall or call 208-227-5282 for more information.
