Newcastle MP Chi Onwurah Made a Dame in King's Birthday Honours List 2025
The 2025 King’s Birthday Honours, marking King Charles III’s birthday, recognised numerous individuals across the North East and Sussex for community, culture, policing, and health services.
These honours followed long-term dedication in fields including social housing, healthcare, public service, arts, and crime prevention, with many recipients serving over 30 years.
Notable awardees included David Beckham knighted for services to sport and charity, Stephen Watson knighted for improving Greater Manchester Police, and Tom Bloxham CBE for cultural regeneration.
Beckham earned 115 England caps, captained 59 times, and said he felt “immensely proud” and grateful for the recognition of his charitable work and sporting legacy.
These awards highlight broad public service contributions and ongoing leadership recognition across health, social enterprise, community safety, and the arts in multiple regions.
