The National Veterinary Sanitary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) is sounding the alarm regarding the major risks of the spread of the foot-and-mouth disease virus in Romania, in the context of the elimination of customs controls. ANSVSA calls for responsibility and vigilance, given the existence of several outbreaks of sick animals in the region - four outbreaks in Slovakia and one confirmed on March 26, 2025 in a cattle farm in Hungary.
