Aldi to Open 16 New UK Stores Including 4 in London
On Tuesday, Aldi announced plans to launch 16 new supermarkets across the UK over the coming months, expanding its retail footprint nationwide.
The expansion supports Aldi's long-term strategy to grow its current estate from 1,080 stores to 1,500 locations nationwide, driving continued market presence.
Upcoming locations span multiple regions: Hattersley and Wigan in Greater Manchester; Bishops Cleeve and Port Talbot in Wales; Sudbury in Suffolk; Ashford in Kent; and sites in London, the West Midlands, North Yorkshire, and Essex.
Aldi is committing £370 million to new store investment this year, following a recent launch at Salford Quays last month and targeting around 40 total openings for 2026.
Staff receive a £13 hourly pay rate, which Aldi implemented last September to maintain competitive wages and support employees across the country.
