Alaska Holds Migrants in ‘Punitive Conditions,' Violating ICE Standards, Lawyers Say

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA, JUN 24 – Lawyers say 41 ICE detainees at Anchorage Correctional Complex faced pepper spray, denied attorney access, and long lockdowns, violating federal standards for humane treatment.

“We Alaskans would be on the hook for financial damages if we are sued and lose,” said Rep. Andrew Gray, who heard accounts of pepper spray and inhumane treatment.
