- Justin Lin of Fast & Furious fame is directing the feature, set for release on November 10, 2027. Producers Hutch Parker and Asad Qizilbash are collaborating with Lin on the adaptation.
- Known for his lead role in Amazon Prime's Reacher, Ritchson recently starred in Motor City and Netflix's War Machine. This role would mark his first time headlining a theatrical studio feature.
- The Helldivers gaming franchise, including the 2015 original and its 2024 sequel, has sold more than 12 million units worldwide. The story follows an elite unit of soldiers protecting the fictional planet of Super Earth.
