Glaswegian Radio Host Alan Brazil Undergoes 'Life-Saving Surgery' During talkSPORT Absence
The 66-year-old broadcaster said he is focusing on recovery after several weeks away from talkSPORT’s breakfast show.
TalkSport host Alan Brazil revealed on Monday he underwent a "life-saving operation" and is currently recovering, having been absent from the Breakfast Show for several weeks.
Colleagues including Gabby Agbonlahor and Shebahn Aherne covered Brazil's usual Breakfast Show slots on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during his absence from the Essex-based broadcaster.
Before his broadcasting career, Brazil made 13 appearances for Scotland and played for Ipswich Town, winning the Uefa Cup during a distinguished playing spell.
Former Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling welcomed the news on the Breakfast Show, saying it was "great to hear from Big Al," while Agbonlahor called it "great news."
After his professional career, the former striker played for non-league sides in Essex including Stambridge United, Witham Town, and Wivenhoe Town before becoming a Radio personality with TalkSport.
