In July, positive data was received compared to expectations, but unfortunately, the layoffs in the German automotive industry do not promise much good.
Hungarian industry turned up again in July: production volume increased by 1.7% compared to the previous month. This continued the sector's upward trend, with monthly output reaching a two-and-a-half-year high. The Central Statistical Office (KSH) recorded an annual growth of 4.7%.
Industrial production increased by 4.7 percent in July compared to the same period last year, and by 1.7 percent compared to the previous month. This is particularly good news after the Central Statistical Office reported a 1.4 percent decrease compared to the previous month in June. As before, the latest data was driven by vehicle and computer manufacturing.
In July 2026, the volume of industrial production expanded by 4.7% compared to a year earlier. The index adjusted for working day effects is the same as the unadjusted one. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted data, industrial output was 1.7% higher than in June 2026.
The Hungarian industry also expanded in July: vehicle manufacturing and electronics increased their production, and the first seven months brought a 2.7 percent increase.
Industrial production expanded by 4.7 percent on an annual basis and by 1.7 percent on a monthly basis in July.
