The European Parliament has called for a tightening of asylum policy. A majority of Christian Democrats and right-wing parties voted in favour of a repatriation regulation, which provides for deportation centres in countries outside the EU. With the vote, Parliament established its position for the negotiations with the Member States and the Commission.
