Ataraxos, a system created by researchers from Carnegie Mellon, NYU, Stanford and MIT, won 15 of 20 games against Pim Niemeijer, considered the most laureate player in Stratego. The team claims that he trained AI for less than $8,000 and that his method also obtained outstanding results in other games with hidden information.
After the chess, Go or poker, a new human bastion has just given way. Ataraxos has largely dominated one of the best players in Stratego in history, a particularly twisted game for machines since most of the information remains hidden.
