AFCON organisers allow free entry after kickoff to fill under-capacity stadiums, with ticketing showing many seats available and some crowds doubling during matches, CAF said.
- On December 25, 2025, organisers at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco allowed supporters in for free after kick-off, a CAF source told AFP, as the Group F game in Agadir started with almost empty stands.
- CAF's official ticketing platform showed seats available for almost all remaining group matches with prices starting at 100 dirhams , while only hosts Morocco's matches against Mali and Zambia, and Algeria v Burkina Faso and Algeria v Equatorial Guinea were sell-outs.
- At Rabat's Al Medina Stadium, the Group D crowd was first announced as 6,703 then corrected to 13,073, and organisers opened stands about 20 minutes into games to admit fans gathered outside without paying, a CAF source told AFP.
- Confusion over attendance figures has emerged, with an official attendance figure of 35,200 inside a venue with a capacity of over 45,000 and similar scenes at numerous matches across the opening days.
- Filling stadiums is important for Morocco as a successful AFCON helps build toward the 2030 World Cup bid, and AFP reported organisers allowed free entry after kick-off during AFCON opening days, a CAF source told AFP.
