According to the latest observations from NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), the so-called "corona loop" on the Sun's surface can signal the upcoming event with tiny flashes of ultraviolet light hours before a solar flare occurs. These tiny flashes could greatly help in more accurate space weather forecasts.
