Nantic, the company that developed Pokémon GO, and other companies in the geospatial sector such as Finnish ICEYE and Distance Technologies, and American BlackSky and Aechelon, have come together to develop a digital twin of the Earth in order to facilitate knowledge, understanding and decision-making in certain situations.
Aechelon Technology launches Project Orbion, a major initiative to build a living digital twin of the Earth. By partnering with Niantic, ICEYE and BlackSky, the project will merge satellite imagery, radar and IA to create a dynamic synthetic reality. This technology is intended for critical applications, ranging from military training to natural disaster management.
