The building in the Upper Austrian town of Braunau am Inn, where Adolf Hitler was born in 1889, will soon see a new use. The building, which has been the subject of controversy for many years over the appropriate way to commemorate the past, will be transformed into a police station. The extensive renovation, worth around 20 million euros, is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026, reports the German daily Bild.
Vlad Braunau am Inn hopes that the house will now become less attractive to neo-Nazis.
In a few weeks, the Austrian police in the city of Braunau am Inn will move to their new station - the building where Adolf Hitler was born.
