Adani Ports inks deal with Port of Marseille Fos to boost India–Europe trade connectivity

The MoU advances the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor with a focus on sustainability, port innovation, and energy transition, boosting trade post-India-EU Free Trade Agreement.

  • On Feb 18, 2026, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Port of Marseille Fos to deepen cooperation on trade facilitation, port innovation and energy transition.
  • Launched at the 2023 G20 Summit, the IMEC corridor is a 6,000-km multimodal link, and APSEZ said the India–EU Free Trade Agreement has boosted trade and India's leadership role.
  • The MoU outlines joint campaigns, technical exchanges, capacity building in port digitalisation, cybersecurity, alternative fuels, shore power, and the creation of an IMEC Ports Club and Mundra–Marseille Green Maritime Corridor, APSEZ said.
  • The signing coincided with French President Emmanuel Macron's visit, and Marseille Fos's participation adds approximately 70 million tonnes of capacity, boosting IMEC's western gateway and supply-chain resilience.
  • Serving Southern France and beyond, the port's 10,400-hectare industrial zone hosts Dry Dock 10, one of the world's largest dry docks.
