Adani Group to invest around Rs 1 lakh crore in airports

The five-year plan will focus nearly 70% of spending on Mumbai and Navi Mumbai as Adani expands airport-city and hotel projects.

  • On Tuesday, Adani Mundra Airport launched scheduled commercial flight services with Star Air, connecting the Kutch region to Mumbai, Goa, Surat, and Hindon. This 9th Adani Group facility aims to become a fully integrated, multi-modal logistics and business hub.
  • Adani Airport Holdings Director Jeet Adani confirmed the group's five-year investment plan of 90,000 crore to 1 lakh crore across all airports to expand its participation in India's aviation economy.
  • Designed for passenger and cargo operations, the airport features a 1,900-metre runway. Rakshit Shah, executive director of Adani Ports & SEZ, stated the facility creates a "powerful synergy" between the group's port and aviation operations.
  • Bidding for 11 new airports, the conglomerate plans to expand its aviation footprint significantly. The company also unveiled a program to develop 22 million sq ft of integrated airport cities across its network.
  • Direct air connectivity simplifies travel for local stakeholders, employees, and tourists visiting Mandvi beach. By reducing travel time, the airport creates an express corridor for trade and commerce, transforming regional connectivity to the rest of India.
